Don West secured for Gavel Chat Q&A week
Posted by Chris
Right after I hung up the phone with Leon Luckey, the first guest for Gavel Chat week Q&A week, I got a chance to talk to another hobby superstar. I'm assuming he is a big fan of the blog, or he might have called because I set up an interview through his PR director,
Don West
is slotted for next Tuesday's installment of the Q&A.
For those of you who don't know, Luckey is the owner of probably the most popular hobby message board, the Network 54 Vintage Card Forum, and West is a hobby legend for his craziness of selling cards on the Shop at Home Network.
The goal of Q&A Week is to bring something different to the blog, with fresh guests and interesting thoughts.
Three more guests will be named soon, so stay tuned!

I want to thank Gavel Chat participant Scott Harpt for sending me the link to this great video. Any bat collector or person interested in memorabilia should take a look at this.

You have to ask Leon about the card soaking .I haven't had time to do my experiment yet but still plan on doing it. Any additional info will be greatly appreciated, Thanks and looking forward to your interviews Brett

I actually did an experiment of my own... If the crease is on the front of the card, chances are the ink on the front is broken a bit. This makes it hard or impossible to remove the crease. If the crease is on the back, it seems to work.
Card soaking is done more to remove dried glue from cards or photos that have been in scrap books over the years and then removed. If done carefully, removal of the glue is nearly impossible to detect.

I read that it could help improve the white bordered cards and improve the colors . I read that in the 54 forum any noticable differance in border or color on the cards you worked on? How about removing ink (ballpoint ) from a card ? Brett

I dont think you can take ball point off a card without someone noticing.
