Well, only for a week, as I will be away from the computer all next week. I am going to be vacationing in an area much more warmer than Wisconsin and will be back the following Monday and ready to really heat up the blogs. There are plenty of auctions that will be under way by then and I'm sure there will be lots of news surrounding them.

Pictured here is my buddy and "near-hobby-legend," Joel Alpert with his lovely new fiancee and former Chicago Bears defensive lineman Mike Hartenstine. Joel accompanied Mike at the Sun-Times free autograph signing table last weekend.

I actually met Mr. Alpert while living in Las Vegas a few years ago when he used to be a terror at the poker tables. It would be nice if he would participate and comment on Gavel Chat more, because he can be quite entertaining and knowledgeable at the same time.

That's one of the reasons why I love attending these major shows. So many old faces I haven't seen in years. I can't wait til Sportsfest and the National.
